I just happened to come across this groovy window into the minds of our favorite foursome.  I think this was originally printed in Star Hits Magazine, but I only have the one page.  Enjoy, Monkeemaniacs!

THIS  is THEN
Come along on an outtasite trip to yesterday
with the groovy zany madcap hot wild
Monkees.  Chick writer:  Suzan Colón.

You just can't keep a good man down.  Or bunch of men.  After a mere 20 years of plotting their return, (GCF note: Er, this is from the mid-eighties, can you tell?) The Monkees are back!  Back! BACK!
Back in 1966, the show was considered a "smash-bang-crash" hit, and the guys were, uh, the most, to say the least.  And they were the scene, man.  Like they were everywhere, natch.  In like every groovy mag you grabbed, The Monkees were dropping some way-down secrets in your ears or telling tru fax with fab pix so they could drive you up the wall!  (An '80s Editor translates:  Thanks to the success of their television series, The Monkees were one of the most popular bands of the time.  They were the mainstay of many 1960's pop-culture magazines, and they supplied Monkee-hungry fans with articles containing informative articles and colorful photographs.)
Some of these mind-blowing and hot new wild fax included Micky's feelings about computer dating: fine for others, but he preferred girls.  Har!  Davy's feelings about footwear:  "I just wear boots for kicks."  Groovy, yes?
Since it was The Monkees' '60s show that helped make them so in with the in-crowd, we're going to take that amazing Star Hits Time Machine back... back (cue swirly pop-art designs and crazy sounds) to the year 1967!  Dig these trippy, flippy early Personal Files with The Monkees!  You'll blow your lollipop!
